This one has me stumped about where to even start looking

When my truck is running (key in the on position) the display on the radio is completely blank, the radio still plays CD's and the radio and seems to be working fine otherwise. When I shut the truck off (but the radio keeps playing) the display comes back on.

    Thanks
    Lou

Maybe one of the wires in the "massive plug" on the back of the radio came loose? just a thought...

im gonna bet that it has something to do with the cab dimmer switch or related wires....try playing with it to see if it changes anything. That switch also will dim the radio display along with the backlit gauge cluster lights.

WE HAVE A WINNER. I feel stupid, my two year old was "driving" and he had the dinner all the way off. He loves to stand on my seat play with all the buttons and honk my horn.

If it wasn't that I was going to suggest that maybe the Gov't was censoring what Big Lou could listen too.:D

Not yet, but if you listen to the people talk about health care you would think that's the next step. The radio worked fine the whole time I just couldn't see the display

lol, i did the same when i was younger....just then there wasn't as many buttons and switches in the cab to play with! Glad you got it figured out and that it was that simple!

Good deal- I had a similar thing happen to me with the dimmer switch- I hopped in my truck, cranked 'er over and had NO displays- I was like WTF, this is BAD... panicked for a few mins, then realized it might be the dimmer... the weird thing was- the only thing that WAS on that time in my truck was the radio display :mechanic:
