I have a HOA that wants a quote on plowing & salting their roads. Question Is I have never done a road before, How much salt do you need to put down just to make safe driving wise. I'm sure less than parking lots as there we are keepin gcompletely clear for pedestrians. Sa lik how much per 1/4 mile, or what do you do and use? please help thanks.

An average is 600-800 lbs. per lane mile.

The DOT here figures ~200# per lane mile.

What are you talking about?

    700#/lane x 2 lanes x 1.5 miles = 1.05 tons
