Question before Ordering my new rontan lightbar

Discussion in 'Strobe Lighting' started by SchneiderPlowin, Feb 27, 2014.

  1. Hello all I have a question what everyone thinks before I order my new lightbar...... Should I get the stop turn tail integrated in the lightbar so I press on the brakes the stoplights taillights and turn signals or should I just do all Amber with worklights thanks in advance

Depends on if you need them or not? Is there a chance your tail lights may be covered up? Personally I would rather have more rear warning/ work lights over having 2 break lights.

I would just get all warning lights and get led flood lights mounted under the bumper and on top of back rack if you use that for a mount. I never really see any trucks with the brake or turn signal unless it's a tow truck.

  4. I have a 2.25 yard salt dogg salt spreader in back, but that doesn't cover any of the lights it just hinders from side view seeing all three at same time.... That was why I even considered it, I would also prefer more warning lights..... The only other factor was I think the spreader would probably hinder the stop turn tail up close anyways because you have to be pretty far back behind truck to see light bar as it sets now, I think I am going to also added amber led to reverse lights and maybe some tir3......

  5. Cat320... Yeah that's what I thought too it was just an option on this bar, more options were arrow stick, which I would never use, take downs in front, never use, alley light I may use but not worth extra, cruise mode?which I would think just one or two lights turn on..... What kind of led floods? I was looking at strobesnmore 5000 lumen flood/spot

I have a whelen patriote bar with the alley and take downs and now I think I would probably not get them in it. I just got the 1400 lumen one from SNM have not had any time to connect them but they are pretty bright from just trying them out I have seen the sound off 1000 lumens and they are as bright as hell. I think if I had to do lights on a new truck I would do the leds 2 up high 2 low maybe make them so they stay on when you need them or use as back up lights with a relay and a togel switch then use lin 6 surface mouns and hide a way strobes in the front and rear light.

Is there areason you are going with a Ronton bar?

  8. Well, good morning Lewis.... I was told that they were one of the brightest bars out there, thought I could put it up side by side my whelen liberty, .... May I ask why do you ask?

I just don't see them much and didn't think they were still even in business. I don't speak from experience but highly doubt they are one of the brightest bars, as if they were they would be more common.

Whelens bars are bright but expensive, the Feniex pegasus is bright and priced around 1000-$1200 depending on size.

  11. Lewis, I haven't heard much, just what I did that Side by Side they are.... I will test and Report, Now for the bad news, I just got a call from my disturber and I guess they are having problems with a mother board or something, and it is going to be a month or so before they send them out... bummer. I guess they are from brazil and they have a manufacturing plant in Miami. Cost wise it was same price as a Whelen and other fine manufactures. I have seen one up close, on a squad car and it was Stupid Bright, now in my eyes it was brighter then my whelen liberty...... but we will have to wait and see!!!! Maybe it will be the NEXT NEW thing for you!(Lewis) and I won't even charge you Finders fee!

If it is pricing out the same as Whelen I would get the Whelen made right here parts right here if it goes down. I have a combo of led strobes and at full power you can't look at my bar it's too bright some times I just use the inboard leds and not the strobes. If they are having problems with there boards that is a sign and where do those boards come from? not the US ?

  13. The warranty was 5 year, and the only reason I bought is because I was told that it smashed the whelen and federal bar's I bought a 54 fully populated rontan with two work lights to the rear and NO Brake Turn Tail, from the Salesman " With the dimmer active, its 70 percent dimmer, and that is comparable to the Whelen Liberty" 22000 lumin where most other bars are 11000 to 13000 lumin

Cat, No the boards aren't made in US they are in Brazil, I am sure all companies have had problems, I just would have liked them not to have had problems right before I get mine.....

Well I hope you have good luck with it and that bad board is the one and only thing that goes wrong with it.you will have to put some pics of it or a video when you get it on and running.

I would have gotten the Feniex bar personally. Slimmer, brighter, made is texas, and can be designed any way you want for 1000-1200 bucks. sounds good to me! Hoping to order mine this summer.

  16. Cat, Thanks I hope so too, one of my employees just reminded me how many problems I had with my whelen when I got it, and goes to show you, no matter where its from there are always going to be problems with.... and I sure will post Videos once I get it..

Jhall..... Rontan are Assembled in Florida, and I have no way of testing which is brighter Yet..... what I can tell, they have a cool website and they are slimmer, as for cost? I didn't see anywhere to price one out! Looks like a nice bar, and once you order yours, and if you get near Wisconsin, lets put them side by side!

If you change your mind I can quote you a super price on the Liberty and we just got 60 in so it'll ship same day. We have a huge order of the new Legacys coming but they are a month out.

Because they support their dealers by not competing with them. They sell only to dealers so find a dealer and price one out!!!

    Google it ;)
