I was looking through truck models, and at times thought the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks a mite lite, then came across the medium duty trucks like the Ford F450 King Ranch and F550.
chassis wonder if thed make a better plow chassis than the lite duty trucks??
I scrolled back a bit and dont see them mentioned much.

what are you looking to do with it? For 80% of people a 1 or 3/4 ton is more than adequate. If you are doing a very very large area or roads, bigger is sometime better.

just seems the heaver trucks would be more tailored for plow work than the light duty trucks is all, they have more traction(weight) , bigger displacement engines, tranny is heaver, mirrors more suited to truck work than passenger work, more robust frames.

the 250, 350, 450 and 550 all use the same engine, trans, and mirrors.
the difference is the 450 and 550 trucks use heavier springs, larger rears, and have longer frames.

    I wouldn't classify the F450 and F550 as medium duty. F650 and F750, yes.

Only thing that makes the 450-550 better is the increased carrying capacity of both the front and rear ends. That's it.

What about mulch tighter turning radius?
