I have a new 1.8 yd polycaster- first plastic spreader, been running a Swenson SS model for a while now. Anyway, I don't spread the usual salt/sand mix, rather a very small < 1/8" chipped stone product called locally "bevy chip" .
The polycaster has a bowl shaped hopper rather than the usual sloped sides. Material gets hung up quite often, is there anything short of my usual "jump in the hopper with a shovel" routine that might help with easier more consistent feeding?
    Thanks

I had thought along that line. Are there units commercially available?

Spray the sides with fluid film?
