HI everyone, I have a fisher straight blade 8ft HD.
Im considering to have a set of side wings installed, these side wings arent extensions,, just a scoop style.

Just wondering if anyone's used this style of wing & if actually save any time
when plowing & if so, how efficient they actually are.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Sorry guys I can't upload pictures but
    yes they are box ends.

Just wondering if they'd save me any time rather than just
staying with the straight blade and having to angle with
    every pass while plowing.

There's a guy named 91AK250 that runs a set of box end on a Boss. Here's one of his threads that shows his set up. http://www.plowsite.com/showthread.php?t=151034&highlight=alaska

I'm sure buy searching you can find more from him or others

Box ends It will save time in certain areas I use to run them on trucks in the 80s 90s I still run a set I made on a tractor plow and my Skid steer new plow came with a adjustable set that plows like a box or open it up plow like a straight plow.

If you have to carry snow to a certain spot to stack it, It will be faster then trying to windrow

If you are plowing with one truck it might not help you much but if run 2 trucks it might help out that way still have a truck that can windrow.
Sideplates on you cant really windrow
I always had a extra plow so I need to windrow I could swing by the shop switch plows

----- Originally, I did want the extension wings as shown in the picture,,, but Im told time and time again, that we cant get wings for a fisher plow because of the trip edge.

So in doing some research, I noticed alot of people use the scoop ends or "box ends"

I have 10 lots that I plow, two in particular give me a really hard time as there are always cars parked scattered & we're leaving windrow piles behind.
Im guesstimating that we're wasting 20 mins per lot doing cleanups etc.
So, im thinking that with the wings, or box ends ,,, we could just get in and plow a full 8 feet per push and not have too much clean up behind.

chevy,, where did you get those wings?? is that a trip edge or a full trip blade?

Thanks again for all the replies !!

For what it's worth, tons of people in my area run Fisher straight blades with Pro Wings.
