Thanks for posting them here for me. Took me a while to get the camera to downsize the video so I could get it to upload.

Today was one of those days. So I thought I'd post a few pics. I just got the new signage for my doors.

What is the top speend of a unimog? Is it really just a big pick up with more features such as hp and such?

Last Friday the movie Pink Panther 2 came out. I rented 3 trucks to the production company to be used in 3 scenes. Thing is the shots take place in Rome and they are supposed to be fire trucks and an ambulance. They didn't let the fact the filming was done in Chelsea, MA and that I wouldn't let them repaint my truck stop them. I did everything except the decals.

I did see Steve Martin and Emily Mortimer during shooting and I got to meet John Cleese. I had just parked one of their Mercedes Smart cars and John Cleese stuck his head in the window to ask if it had much room. I just told him to try it on for size and we swapped places. Then we talked about how bad the parking is in London for about 15 minutes. As if I have a clue about how bad London parking is. I mean holy crap, it was John friggin Cleese. If I wasn't acting like this kinda thing happens to me all the time I woulda asked him to sign my truck or something.....

The Pinzgauer is sitting in front of the restaurant that burns in the movie. They also don't want you to take pictures on the sets. I just put tape over my flash so I wouldn't get caught.

$29,000. but keep in mind that was before the exchange rate went screwy on us.

Actually think farm tractor you can drive down the road. Speeds range depending on the model from 36mph to just over 70mph w/ super fast axle ratio.

This site can explain a lot about Unimogs:
    http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/unimog.html

My truck will run at 62mph and top out at 68mph. It's got 168hp (straight 6 turbo diesel rebuildable not a throwaway), 24 forward / 16 reverse, front 540 / 1000 1-3/4" PTO good for 141hp, 6 front hydraulics / 2 rear, European front DIN 3 mount plate, 42" deep fording option, front and rear stabilizers and GVW is 16,512#. Mine was former military so it's a fairly lightly optioned truck.

Thought I'd add 2 more. The fire pic shows the view from my front seat. I was a bit concerned about melting paint. Is it me or does that sign say "The plate of nothing"???

Pic # 2 is Steve Martin in the scene after the restaurant burns. That IS a Home Depot in the background. They have those in Italy don't they?
