The Snoway ST I'm buying does not have shoes.

Will I need / want them? Not real sure about the pro's & con's of having shoes... any advice is welcome.

Unless your plowing loose stone, nope. 1st thing I do with every new plow is take off the shoes.

i leave them on and adjust them as needed but i have a few driveways and lots that are stone and dirt. also leaving them on will save your edge

No shoes! You want to scrape down to the pavement. Why would you want to leave a thin layer or snow/ice?
