When I run the pump on my Western plow it smells like the windings are burning up. The smell an electric motor makes when it is burning up. Does this mean the motor is about to need a rebuild? Would just changing the brushes help?

It's a Unimount on a '90 Toyota. I believe the mount and wiring were originally on a Ranger, at least that is what the manuals are for.
