I have a 1990 Toyota pick-up,with a 6.5 meyers plow. The plow is not working,I have power to the selnoid and to the electric motor. The motor will not turn. How can I test the electric motor to see if it is working? Or is there any other problems?

Run a set of jumper cables from the battery directly to the pump motor. Connect the 12V clamp on the power stud on the motor and connect the ground clamp directly to the motor housing. If it still doesn't run then it's good chance the motor, or at least the brushes are worn or corroded.

If after connecting the jumpers it does run, then either you have a poor connection somewhere on the power cables, or the under hood solenoid is shot.

I sanded the parts inside, they were corroded. That was all it took.
