Well, i found a guy who has a (i think 7.5') western, it has relativeley minor rust on the left/right tilt cylinders as they had not been used bc he couldnt get it to turn. anyhoo hes asking for $250 and it would require fabbing up the mount bc it only has the bottom rails as he cut off the parts that run up to the frame, not hard im sure.

the real reason im posting is that the power unit valves are controlled by CABLES!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE!!! So if anyone can get me any info or links to what power unit this is and if it can be or is even worth getting and converting to electrically controlled?

Some guys still like those pumps, some dont. Parts are still available.

Take some emery cloth and clean up the cylinders, if they are pitted after cleaning them up they will need to be replaced.

Expensive to convert to western electric pump, Cheaper to go with a fenner, barnes or monarch hyd/elec pump under the hood if you do convert it.

Install pics for your truck can be found on westerns site to help with the fab work.
