plow drops like a sack of bricks,can i slow it down

    hey guys

    ive got a 7.6 unimount proplow using handheld controler..everyrhing on it works great,but when i lower it it drops like a sack of patatos, right to the ground and hard...is there a way to slow this down at all?wesport

    thanks for any help,its driving me nuts,:salute:

    plow drops hard

    Dan, i have the same problem with my Fisher HD 8.5' plow, if stopped part way down it makes the truck rock bad..

    Have you check to fluid? If you change the fluid, make sure there is no air in the system, and recheck the fluid. If you done all that, I would suggest adjusting the
    'Quill"
    Here is a link. Look at pg #18 "blade drop speed adjustment". This will tell you how to adjust the quill.If you haven't change the fluids in a very long time, I would suggest doing a fluid change..This pdf will also explain a fluid change..

    Truck looks in great shape.

    How does the fisher handle better then a western?

    YES! Adjust the quill clockwise & you can make the plow come down like a feather if u want. Its located at the back of the pump. Take the cover off.

    I never remove the cover........Except when I had to give it a little heat because it was frozen and had to remove the screw, clean it.. That was the only time..

    Cruesix, you don't want it too drop to soft, adjust it to were it not too soft, and not to hard...Take your time. Very small turns until you feel comfortable with the drop speed and the lift speed.......
