I have a 1st year customer that has a parking garage and specs calcium flake to be used. I keep have a water/moisture problem on the surface. If we put to much calcium down, they complain and want it cleaned up. Does calcium pull moisture out of the concrete? Is the moisture from temp changes from day/night? Will liquid di ice work in this situation? If so how long does the liquid last on the surface?

Calcium Chloride is hydroscopic it will pull any moisture from the air that is what is causing the "wet" effect. Take a plastic strainer for food fil it with calcium chloride and place in a bucket and you have got yourself a homemade dehumidifier. Most chlorides cause that wet effect espically if blended with the calcium chloride

I would advise the customer to consider a blend or a treated product--straight calcium is rarely the way to go anymore. There are so many more suitable alternatives out there that will not have this problem.

Most treated products are rock salt correct? Most clients hear rock salt or treated salt for concrete areas, they dont want salt apps because it will deteriorate the concrete and rebar
