packing nuts.

    why do our packing nuts keep pulling off? it looks like they are threaded half way into the cylinder. the cylinder threads always seem fine, it's the nuts that have the threads pulled off. thanks....jay

    Every time I've ever seen a packing nut pull out, it was either due to a bent ram, or not enough thread engagement which is usually cased by to many packing rings installed into the cylinder...

    When it pulls the threads off the nut, how many threads is it actually pulling off? This will tell you how much actual thread engagement your getting in the cylinder....
