Packing Nut keeps backing out ?

I have an old Western Plow, early 80's vintage. The left angle cylinder packing nut keeps loosening up. I need a tip on stopping this problem. I searched 'packing nut' and found mention of drilling and tapping the cylinder for set screws to hold the nut in place. Any other suggestions?

Otherwise the old thing works fine. Even when the nut backs out a couple of turns while plowing rough roads it only seeps a couple of drops overnight.

    Thanks for any help.

Thanks, I'll try threadlocker, I have some on hand but had not thought of it for this problem.
