How can I tell if my rams have an NPT or o ring packing nut? Should I be able to see threads or o ring for each? Fisher plow schematics do not give part number specific to my MM2 8' HD.

Is there a hose connected to the ram? If so disconnect it and look at the fitting.

NPT is pipe thread - tapered, should have teflon tape or pipe dope on it to help seal the connection

O Ring is a square tap (not tapered) and there will be an O ring on the fitting itself.

This really means nothing but all the rams we have, Boss, Meyer, Danials and bought ones have a pipe thread.
