Looking for feed back for spreader for 35-45HP Tractor. Going to use on 6' + wide sidewalks and small tight parking areas . What are people using? What works well/problems? (will be using Magic Salt)

Depending on the quantity you want to spread an electric tailgate salter might be your best bet. Pto spreaders have wide spread patterns and as soon as you rev your tractor up you amplify that. With an electric you can set it low and do what ever you want. Horst does make a nice little hydraulic spreader that will allow you to adjust your spread pattern which would be better than electric but it really depends on how much you want to spend.

That's what we use for sidewalks but any tailgate salter with adjustable speed will work. Some of the tailgate salters do blast everytime on startup and that's bad for sidewalks if you have sensitive shubbery or grass on sides of sidewalk.

Thanks, do you run magic thru it? Do you need a vibrator? Do you run on ag tractor or bobcat? if bobcat front or rear? How large do you have and how do you fill it? Hope that was not too many questions.

We run it on the back of a Kubota 2560 and have ran the same setup since 2000. We really don't use that much anymore as we lost a large contract where 2 of these untis worked. Ours didn't have a vibrator but when using bulk salt it would have been nice. Never ran Majic so I have no clue.

Anyone else want to chime in.... It could be someone who uses bulk salt on a pick-up mounted unit too
