Oil Pressure Sending Unit

    Anyone know how to check the Oil Pressure Sending Unit on a '89 Chevy 350. My gage is pegged off to the right. When the engine is off, the gage pretty much stays pegged, which makes me think it might be the gage.

    It could be the sender or the wire to the sender. The OP sender is located on the driver side of the block, right above the oil filter.. It should have a singe dark blue wire on it. You can test the wire and the gage by turning on the key and grounding the blue wire with a jumper wire. If the gage moves to the extreme LEFT of the gage's travel, then the wire and gage are good. Replace the sender.
