MPT was just approved for supplying 22" center pieces of urethane for the NH DOT. On a 12' plow they run 2-5'3" of steel in from each end, and now our 22" center in urethane. What this allows the driver to do is stradle the reflectors in the road with out damaging them. What we hope happens is they see how well these edges wear, and eventually go over to 100% urethane edges. Believe it or not, just that center piece will keep their steel from smiling and provide longer lasting steel edges. This is a big step towards full 100% u edges on state DOT's in the furture. Airports already know the value, and now DOT's, soon municipalities will be following suit. Just think the members here and at SIMA have been years ahead these guys with regard to this type of edge.
