Ok so I picked up a 1986 Ford F350 Dually Stakebed with a 351 Windsor and a C6 Auto Trans, it also has an older Western Snow plow with joystick control, completely intact but due for some maintainence and adjustment. So now that I have a truck whats next?

But first visit your insurance agent. Get Commercial Vehicle and Commercial Liability insurance.

Then tell everyone who'll listen that you're plowing snow. Put an ad in the local paper. Put a business card at the local convenience store. Talk about snow and snowplowing anywhere and anytime to anybody. If anybody asks how much to plow, tell them you'd have to see it first and take measurements. Anything to stall while you mull it over in your mind what a good price might be. Don't worry about whether you're too high or too low. Too high and you won't get the job. You'll learn and can come down a little next time. Too low and you'll get every job. You'll learn and come go up a little until you start getting some and not get some. Then you're just right. It may take a couple years, but don't worry about it. Few guys still have the same customers after 4-5 years.

Thanks for the advice! What kind of coverages do you keep on your truck for propety damage and liability?
