    Salt @ $5.00 per 50 lb bag

$0.30 per Lb seems to be the going rate from what I can tell

    Roadway APPX 58000 Square Feet

Figuring on 1500 Lbs per application

    1500 Lbs @ ,30 is 450.00

My cost on salt is 1500 x $.10 is $150.00

300 dollars seems like quite a profit for what I'm thinking is an hour of work...

Am I off on my calculations or should I really be charging that amount?

My salt cost would be $60 and I would be lucky to get the $150 your paying for salt. If your bidding against guys spreading bulk you don't stand a chance.

Why do you think that is an hours work?

Figuring 600lb acre puts you at about 800lbs per app. You're pretty high at 1500 lbs/app and as far as bulk goes that IS the way to do it. If you lay 1500lbs on that job, you can just sit back for the rest of the winter and relax. It'll probably last til spring!

    30 cents/lb equals 600$ ton!
