I just bought a new 04 Chev 1500 xcab and want to transfer my Western plow from my 99 Chev 1500 xcab. Dealer says I will need a new wiring harness for the 04 that could get a little pricey. The plow was new in 99. Any truth to this and how much does the new harness cost?

Hmmmmm....Call another dealer. My Western swapped with no addl. parts from my 01 to my 04 Chevy with no isolation modules. Just plug in and go with the old parts from my 01.
Do both trucks have the VYU plow prep pkg?.............geo

03/04 high and low beams are fused together,it will work for a while, probably be headaches later on,I spoke with the tech rep and he doesn't advise it.

GUYS....Finally got the real scoop on the Western wiring harness,,,,,,

The 99 GM harness will NOT work on the 04 GM. Gotta use a different one $249 bucks ! Its because of the headlights I am told.
My 01 harness will not work on my 04 either.................
    But would work on 99-02.

The Western guys said the Isolation modules are used in the late 03/04
Western model plows now for what ever reason.................
But not other years..........Relays are used instead he says.............

THoughts ????????????? Better design or do they want to reach DEEP into our pockets?..............geo :gunsfiring: :gunsfiring: :gunsfiring:

Kinda thought i gave ya the "real" scoop?!LOL!It's the Chevy headlights screwing it up,not Fisher.
Relay set-up will not be reliable in the long run.
Thoughts?,Yeah, tell the damn truck manufacturers to stick with one headlight configuration instead of changing every 2 years.

Just went through this for my new HD 2500. Traded in a 2002 GMC HD2500. Kept the Fisher plow and had to spend 1100.00 installed including tax for the truck side mount. Needed new pushplates and all new wiring.....Part of the business I guess

    ARC.....You are right again !

Old light harness 99/02 GM except WT model #615401
New light harness 03/04 GM truck side #27780

No isolation module needed for my 01 ultra set up. Just the relay system. Only 03/04 Western set ups need the isolation module dealer sez.....................

$250 bucks for the 1 truck side light harness and the other plug is changed (plow side) so there won't be 9? pins in it any more............

Sound right ? Of course the dealers near Syracuse have NONE in stock to buy or eyeball.......WTF>>>>>

My dealer did install the push bar no problem. I had to pick it up today. They won't have the harness till next week !

My darn Escort winter rat blew a rad hose so needed the truck.......geo

JKR.....Why did you need a new push bar? My push bar from my 01 LD 2500 fit my 04 2500 HD no problem. Fisher different?

Only changes were the wiring and install push bar and remove air dam......................still $pendy tho.
My install is gonna be $450 complete

    This shop is only $40 a hour...........................geo

have harness for 2500 '04 chevy originally for an unimount. I dunno if it will work for an ultra. Will sell for 100 bucks if it will. Used maybe 3 times last winter. Have DRL unit, complete instruction manuals, all the relays.
