Will older (80 to 87) 1/2 ton 6 lug wheels fit on '03 1/2 ton Silverado 6 lug axles. I have a real nice set of alloy 15" rims from a classic 85 1/2 ton available and I was wondering....

They may "fit" if the bolt holes are big enough, the newer trucks use bigger studs. BUT, they have a totally different backspacing and will stand out further from the hub face. That will result in them slinging mud on the sides of the truck and may cause increased bearing wear due to the increase in hub loading.

In addition to that, the calipers on the rear disc brakes of the 03 will not fit inside the 15" rims, you will have to either grind down the caliper (highly NOT recommended) or stick it out for some 16" wheels.
