What is the best way to deal with the extra links once chains are on the tires? Cut them off or wire them or ?? Tom

I tried tying them off. They come loose and centrifugal force can make them hit the body or frame.

    Cut them off....

The extra links do need to be secured. Once the chain is tight on the tire, take a bungee and put it on the last link and run the bungee diagonally, across the face of the wheel and secure it on the opposite side. The length of the bungee will determine how tight you can make it. The tighter the better.
