new snowblower runner and scraper blade adjustment question

    ok i bought a new ariens st624e snowblower im looking at the manual and it says you want 1/8" gap between scraper blade and hard smooth suface and keep the runners down to the ground is this how i should run it?the way it is now the scraper blade is on the ground.im wondering do they get these units assembled at HD or do they do the assembly?I appreciate any responses i just wanna have it set the right way for when the snow comes thanks guys.

    The 1/8th of an inch is a starting point. The idea is to get the bar as close to the ground as possible without snagging anything. If you're clearing a flat smooth surface you may be able to drop it a bit but that's not likely. If your doing gravel you may have to raise it a bit.
