My Chevys were getting old, so it was time to upgrade. Ford has some pretty strong incentives on plows ($3000 per plow), so I got new ones and sold my straight blades. The red one is a '14 350xl, the black one is a '13 250xl. I bought at different dealers to get the deal I wanted, so I ended up with different plows, but I'm ok with that.

I will need some decent snow for 5 years to make the payments. :)

Very nice, but I'm surprised you couldn't get a better deal on 2 of them at the same dealership.

Me too. I bought the black one in October when I planned to only buy one truck. Then in December I found that my other Chevy needed a lot of work (brake lines, water pump, manifold gaskets/snapped bolts, tires, and brakes), and I am no mechanic, and have no shop to work in. So I decided to pull the trigger on truck #2. So I went back to that same dealer, and he wouldn't even give me the same deal on #2. I cannot tell you how frustrated I was. Small town dealers sometimes are not as aggressive as the big guys.

So I started shopping, and got the deal I needed on the red one at a huge dealer closer to the city. It was all hinging on the trade-in. They took my '04 Chevy truck in trade at a decent value. I guess the value of the trade is a matter of opinion.

Yes. I just bought a Saltdogg TGS07 tailgate sander. We sanded a few hilly driveways last night before a storm just to help ourselves plow, and I have a couple of customers that want sanding ongoing. But I need to sign up some customers to make the investment pay off.

Nice upgrades. How did you get $3000 rebate on the plows?
