The 9857 is a nice headunit. Great deck for a truck, but if you're looking to do a serious system down the road, the low preout voltage is a moderate compromise. You should look into the iPod cable for it. It's $30 and seemlessly integrates the iPod into the head unit. Very slick.

Bought that with the unit....LOVE the control it has and very little lag when searching throught he ipod library!......Not much i can put in my truck, so a serrious system isn't something im going to be doing in this truck!

Alpine is definitely the way to go. Should have purchased the type R's. A little bit more but the sound quality is just absolutely superior.. lol, looks sick though. good stuff

Here's a couple shots of my system, went with the true 5.1 surround, sounds almost better then my home system, my center channel speaker is a bit small but sounds great in front. The piece under the radio ( lower left ) is the SIRUS satelite controller.

This is my center console, I took all the guts out and put my six disc. changer in there as well as my surround sound processor, also works great as a remote control holder.

Last shot, the brains behind the system, my dearly beloved AMP, yes is a MAC, 6 channel, 4 for the speakers, 1 for the sub, and 1 for the center channel, works quite well.

    Sorry for the bad pic.:realmad:
