Winters over here so i sent the truck to the body shop to get the dents pulled out of the bottom part of the truck. He took the rear bumper off so i figured id start fabbing up a new one.

If you look at my other pictures of my 92 3500 you'll see the bumper. Were making it like that one but a lot heavier duty.

Whatever I would hit wouldn't stand a chance lol my dad tore down a brick wall to a garage, 2 fence posts and a "at the time" brand new mercedes with the other bumper he built. Bumper had nothing but a scratch. Frame is fine. My old one was painted. I'm probably gonna get the new one galvanised.

got another couple of hours on the bumper today. nothing really noticeable. did some grinding and rewelding. we also got the C channels onto the truck. still got about 10-15 hard hours before this thing is all done.

still contemplating if i should spend $200 to galvanize it or just suck it up and paint it black every year.
anyone have any tips for painting it myself and making the paint last a while?

Unless you plan on relocating your spare, remember to drill a hole for the lowering device.
