I started making brine last year and it was very successful! I used bagged rock salt because it was "clean" This year I'd like to use bulk out of my bulk pile to cut costs even more. As we all know the bulk is much more impure than bagged salt.

Is there any reason I can't use bulk? I run a screen when i spray, the only concern all the dirt in the bulk.

    Any advice is appreciated!

Bulk is fine, let the brine set a day or so, then pump off the top. All the junk will settle leaving you clean brine on top.

if you are screening out the finished brine it shouldn't matter. the biggest difference is in cleaning out the machine you mix it in.
