The local dealer here has 3 of the new SRW 3500 Chevy's. They were all standard cab's w/ 8' beds. Dealer says all the combinations of cabs and beds will be avaiable. They were all LS interior and the wheels are a new design. None of the trucks had alum. alloys, all steel wheels. Also, the 3500 has 265's for standard rubber!! About time. Looks like they took a 2500HD and added more springs and made 265's standard tires. Also, none of the trucks were duramax's, all gasers. These were early production I believe, they don't even have prices on the window sticker, just a note explaining no price is avaiable because the truck is so new. Looks like a sweet ride, great plow truck.

    edmunds.com has the pricing.
They all come standard with an automatic and a locker. Price is only about $150 more than the same equiped 2500HD.
However, I bought the HD because of the wheels. HD has the chrome the 3500 has steel. When the 245s wear out I will replace with 265. I will then have nice wheels 265. This is cheaper than replaceing the wheels.
I don't need the extra 700lbs weight. In fact my registration and insurance is based on the gvw so the 2500 is cheaper to operate. I presently have a 97 K3500srw its gvw is 9200 same as the new HD's
They both have the same towing ratings and combined vehicle weight ratings.

I'm not positive, but I think they 3500SRW trucks are only available in long boxes. All cab configurations, but no short beds.
