Went to use my back-up spreader the other day, it's a 2 yd gas v-box. Went to test it before getting a load and the engine started fine but the conveyor wouldn't move. Tried turning the spinner a bit to free it up but wouldn't move much. After closer inspection I figured the conveyor chain was frozen in ice underneath (the hopper was completely empty).
Took the truck to the shop and sure enough, after some thawing the conveyor started moving. I put some 4x4's under the hopper to keep it off the truck bed. Hopefully this keeps it from happening again.
