i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2 litre engine i thinks thats a 318?...well today the check engine light came on and when i hooked it to a scan machine it read codes of a misfire in cylinder 1 and 8, the plugs and wires where replaced in september this year. Ive checked the condition of the plugs and wires and they seem to be in good shape. Any ideas on what else could have caused these codes?

Possibly a bad distributor cap. #1 and #8 are side by side in the distributor cap. Spark could be jumping between the two terminals....
