Need Quick Advice!

    Anyone ever replace a transfer case?

    My transfercase in bad and i found a used one in great condition. To save on cost i want to tackle the job myself... Never did one b4.... Looking for pointers!

    The hex bolts that hold parts together- Always turn them COUNTER CLOCKWISE to loosen and CLOCKWISE to tighten. It also helps to have a socket or a wrench on the nut on the other end, so that you do not start just spinning the bolt. Also, when working in the shop, safety is key to a healthy and happy enviornment and experiment.

    Well get a load of this!!

    I had a second shop look at it.. and the transfercase is fine! WOOHOO!
    some linkage was all rusted together. I cant belive the first shop tried soaking me $1200 for a new transfer case when it was fine. I guess it pays to get a second opinion.
