Need Help!!

    hey guys ive got a bit of a problem with timing my 406 sb chevy!i just bought a new edelbrock intake and carb and strapted it on but i didnt bring the piston to TDC when i removed my distributer so now ive got a mess,i tried to fire my engine and it backfires through the exhaust when atempting to start!!need help

    If it backfires through the exhaust it's to far ********.You need to take it out,and turn it probably two teeth clockwise (the rotor that is) and try it again.

    If that doesn't work,you'll have to find TDC #1,line up the timing marks,and drop the dist in so the rotor points towards the #1 wire on the cap.
