5 years on the road i guess it was bound to happen...i got rearended

and god im pissed! lady in a yukon tryed to cut me off before a intersection i ended up getting ran up on the sidewalk...then right after the intersection she plowed into the back of me! ugh! traffic stopped and so did i and she did not...aparently she doesnt think snow tires are needed...they are!

anyway she got a ticket and i got her insurance info.

doesnt look that bad..but its prolly about $1k worth of work on my truck i dont think she'll even fix hers as it wasnt that bad on her part.

best part was she was a *****...all cocky and saying "yeah call the cops see what happends" and ofcourse she got the ticket.

    her truck

mine, rear bumper gaurd, lights, paint the bumper, replace plastic trim/paint

    That ain't bad dude.

My first car was a ''93 Escort...a month of driving and I lost control on a dirt road, hit a tree. Undrivable until it was fixed 10 months later. In between, I drove a '93 Cavalier. A week after getting that, I stopped at a yellow light, and an idiot in a Blazer (the full-size one) thought I was going through and plowed right into me. Sent me (in my car) across the intersection. The only damage to his truck was that it needed a flat bar to get the hood open. My car had a busted brake line, bumper dented in (the core was moved some 10"), and the trunk was FUBAR.

Point of my little story: I think you should be happy you were driving a truck that got virtually no damage whatsoever.

Still sucks, though. A grand is a grand.

There are 2 types of drivers, Those who have had accidents and those who will. At least you were OK.

Last yr a baby tahoe tried to squeeze past my bobcat at speed on a now one lane road, my guy backed up a few inches and tahoe lost his rear quarter and glass. Bobcat had a few scratches lol. Tahoe insurance co. calls me up and asks how I'd like to pay $6500 in damages. Told them that wouldn't be happening. They threatened to sue, told em to go ahead, 12+ months of no news so far.....

ofcourse its getting fixed! this is my baby my show truck! lol i spent all day on the phone with the insurance.

the big problem is idk if i can find a bar like that again, they were very spendy new and idk if they still make them..if thats the case i want this one fixed by a metal shop and powder coated which i told the insurance ajuster today.

god im so pissed still over the whole deal...my poor baby went12 years without even a scratch and now this lady screwed that all up. i know it could have been much worse..i'm aware but it still hurts lol

That sucks man even though the insurance paid for it its still wasted time bringing the truck to the shop and and all. Here in montreal its the law that you have to run winter tires and you will get a ticket for not having them, also it amazes me how people seem to forget how to drive as soon as the snow hits even though its winter most of the year here!!!

far as im conernd getting rearended is a wreck yes? so there it is.

yeah i'll end up just taking the bumper off the truck and dropping it off at the bodyshop so im not out of my truck for a week or whatever. ugh! then have to wait for parts to come in..ect this sucks!

I understand your frustration. I was in an accident once. Well, truth be told, my truck was in an accident. I was sitting comfortably at my computer in my toasty warm home when some kid lost control on some ice while trying to pass someone. He sideswiped the guy he was passing, rolled over, into a telephone pole and his mother's blazer (s-10) landed upside down in my driveway. And where did the pole land? Yes, that's right.....across the bed of my brand new 2006 GMC 2500HD. There was only about 6000 miles on the truck. I was so pissed. The pole also hit my father's car that was parked next to my truck. All in all, he damaged 4 vehicles and a pole. Damage to my truck was about $3000 while the car was about $4000 plus it cost his insurance co. about $600 is glass cleanup on my lawn and driveway, not to mention the other guy he hit, and his blazer was demolished. The blazer landed about 4 feet from my garage.

Plus, I lost my cable tv/internet for a couple days because when the pole came down, it lowered my cable wire just enough to get snagged by a passing truck right after the accident. It was dark and when that truck passed by and caught the wire, it started whipping the broke pole around the yard. It sent everyone scattering in a real hurry. Luckily the wire broke fairly quickly, and let the pole back down, yes onto my truck just to add a little more insult to injury.

I no longer live at this location, in part because of this accident.

That's why I always have a camara with me, never know when you'll really need it. A few years ago my dad pulverized the fender on my pontiac grand prix when it had 1200 miles on it. IT WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE WITH THE COVER ON IT. He knocked shelving over while muscling a 5 gal gas can around. I could have killed him.

It's only a matter of time until you get bit by the accident bug, especially if you drive a lot. Wrong place, wrong time.

yeah, i guess after putting 50,000 + miles on my explorer in 3 1/2 years(didnt drive it till may '05 but bought in in 2003) which is about 14,000 ish miles per year it was a matter of time.
