I am considering purchasing a Snowbear plow to mount on my 79 CJ7. I have a front receiver hitch and am concerned the snow plow cross member may not fit due to the Receiver hitch mount. Can anyone tell me how many inches there are between the bottom of the jeep frame (where the side supports are mounted) and the cross member?

When I had mine, I just mounted the plow by using the front hitch. My buddy welded a extension on the plow arms and put a 2" tube on it to mount right in the hitch. Much more stout than the bear mounts. Hope that helps?
