Motor Solenoids

I have 4 plows (mostly Boss) that are all mounted on 3/4 ton 4wd trucks. I have been in the plowing business in N. Wisconsin for 19 years. Mt issue is that the motor solenoids I use do not last more than a year ot so.

I use a 4 terminal "tower" style solenoid. They last a year or so then the main stud melts during use. I understand this is due to heat from the voltage traveling through the solenoid. Is there a better or higher amp solenoid that will last longer? Is this due to other issues?
I keep all connections very clean and maintain the plows very well.

    Thats for the help

    google "cole hersee"
they make heavy duty solenoids for ambulance's and fire trucks.
they cost a little more but worth it IMO

Better yes, but for a plow application Trombetta is the name you want.

Doesn't matter technically as long as it's 12 volt, but the 114-1211-202 is the one you want. This gets you the silver alloy contacts instead of plain copper.
