My 1985 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 (350, auto) is throing an engine code that identifies a problem with the mixture control solenoid. I can get one from NAPA for about $90 bucks. Has anyone ever replaced one of these? It looks like the carb has to be partially dismantled in order to swap this. Would appreciate any words of wisdom.

    BTW, I love this board!

You need to remove the top of the carb to replace the mixture solenoid.Might wanna replace the throttle position sensor while your in there also. It's really not that difficult as it looks.

Thanks for the tip. I decided to have the carb completely rebuilt and will have the throttle position sensor replaced at the same time.
