Hey guys i just registered but ive been steeling infromation from this site every time google a problem.
I have a older meyers plow on an international scout and it has sat for the last year and a half and now it has come time to get rid of it. Well, i jsut got it running again and the blade angles perfectly but it wont lift at all. the chain is loose on the lift right now so there is absolutely no pressure on the lift ram but it wont move up at all and ive never had this problem before.
    thanks

Do you hear the pump tryin to run when try to go up just as when you angle left end right ?? Can you manualyy try to push up on lift cylinder, because if it does not move up try breaking packing nut loose a littleand spray complete ram and all aroun ram cylinder and nut with some sort of penetrating oil. Such as wd40,PB blaster, ect, ectcould be your packing around the ram cyl is dried out. thats all I can think of may behope this is some what of help

also don't forget to check the fluid level and also take apart and clean all the electrical connections (put dielectric grease on the electric fittings). The solenoids and battery connections like to corrode alot when not in use. Like DIRISHMAN said, like for the pump to kick on (and for the solenoid clicking) if you don't hear anything when you try the push the switch to lift it, it is either something stuck/rusted or not getting power. Keep posting your feedback and the guys on here will help out.

yea i hear the pump trying to run just the same but when i try to lift up on the ram when someone is pushing the switch i cant begin to move it. There is not packing not on the top of the cylinder but three bolts to take to cap off of the top of it.

ok if that is the case then go out and get your self some penatrating oil like I said and let it soak spray the @#$%$#@#%^%$#@ out of it and try it again if it moves alittle keep sprayin .Sounds like a stuck ram cyl to me.

    http://meyerproducts.com/techsupport/troubleshooting.aspx

try downloading some manuals off of meyer's website listed above; from a quick look at the flow chart it says to look and see if the 'A' valve is stuck open. I don't know the model of pump you have but you should be able to look on the side of it for a tag or stamping. the website has all of the pump and other service manuals under the tech support tab.

Check to see if the "B" valve is getting power and the "B" valve functioning. Check to see if the "A" valve is stuck open and check the fluid levels.

as far as fluid isnt there a specific position the plow should be in when you add fluid?

i attached the troubleshooting chart. from what I read, it says to check/clean the "b" valve. just have a look at the attached image.

attached is a valve sheet. from what i see on there it should be the valve with the RED wire going to it...see if that helps.

If it angles left it is the "B" valve. The coils has a red wire. First confirm you have power going to the red wire when you hit the raise switch , be sure the coil has magnetism, if it is getting juice and has magnetism then check the valve itself.

mine was the "B" valve, red wire. took it out cleaned it and touched the wire to the + on the battery and the valve to the - ...works fine now.
