So I'm hoping that by posting specifically in this forum that someone from Meyer will step up to the plate and do the right thing. I have referenced numerous of my issues with my first 2 spreaders, but #3 is still having spinner motor issues. As in we are on our 4th motor for this season already.

    Here's the other thread:

    http://www.plowsite.com/showthread.php?t=143183&highlight=swenson+mdv

Here's the email I sent that resulted in me getting a new spreader this fall, instead of a full refund.

My follow up email when the first motor went out:

I know this has been forwarded on to a few of the higher ups that should be able to make something happen, but after the 3rd motor just crapped out tonight, I am just aboot ready to return my 3rd spreader personally to Meyer Corp.

So come on Meyer, let's see you do the right thing. I am not even asking to be reimbursed for the thousands of dollars of lost revenue I have incurred trying to use this spreader. Just the initial purchase price.

Will you do the right thing?

You would think if this gets spread around and enough people read and comment on it it will get someones attention.

Mark is this an electric spreader? I wonder if its a voltage/amps problem in the controller.

Guess I'll scratch the Swenson electric off the options list for our new f550. Hopefully they get this taken care of for you.

Yes, they all have been electric.

Everything has been wired per Meyer\Swenson. IMO, the wires are far too small a gauge to be carrying the amount of juice to run these motors for any period of time. Ebling uses far heavier for intermittent use on the back blades.

Ebling has checked everything at least once.

I really don't remember, but we each spreader has come with a new controller, which we have installed with the new spreader. And other than the initial controller that was totally fubarred, I am quite sure we had 1 more in there someplace.

Should have put King-President in signature...:)

Time to replace with a top of the line walk behind, you'll be better off.

Are these the same pieces of crap that you had another problem with, a shaft or something like that.

Mark, I've had the same run around with Swenson last fall/winter with my dump insert and the spreader that I was "trying" to buy for it from them. Swenson is only 30 miles from my house, I like to buy local but I will never buy any of their products again. I'll post my whole debacle with Swenson later, not enough time right now. Run forest, run....

Hopefully you will receive a large enough refund to go purchase one of those fine quality SaltDogg Electric units...

That would be silly. I'm trying to get rid of POS equipment, not add to it.

    What else is there? Boss?

I've herd of DD spreaders having plenty of issues as well. Bad control modules and such.

It's really a shame how expensive this stuff is

Did you ever hear back from anyone at Swenson or get your problem taken care of.

I got a reply from a regional rep that they would be resolving the issue.
