    Hello Everyone,
I have a meyer plow which i think is the classic? tubular frame with the old yellow and black square touch pad.(the stickers are painted over on the pump)
Anyways the plow will only raise with the float engaged then press the right angle button.
Also it will only go down using the ( UP ) button while on float.

The down button dosn't seem to work at all.

Will go left and right in normal mode with float off.

    Thanks for any help.

Did you buy this truck already set up? Or is this a new install on your truck? Has it ever worked properly?

Not a new install I bought it already mounted! I just replaced the touch pad and it still has the same problems.

it sounds to me like you have wires hooked up wrong.

Ok I checked the wiring and it all looks to be hooked up correctly!
The down button doesn't work at all with the float on or off.
Also with the float off it will angle left and right but the up button will not work at all.

Turning float ON the right and left angle will raise the plow while
The UP button on float lowers it. The Up button will not do anything
Except lowering the plow while in the float position.

Sorry guys I know it seems like a lot of rambling and repeating.

i don't quite get what you are saying.
to put the plow in float with the touchpad, you hold the down button until the float light comes on. once you touch any other button the float feature turns off.

I guess for some reason its probably part of my problem if that's not normal. My touch pad stays on float while I raise it with the left or right buttons and Dont turn off until I use the Up button to lower the plow. I got two touch pads and its the same issue with both.thanks

ok guys, I went over the wiring up to the bottom of the round 6 prong plug(i didnt take the round plug apart)
I also got an adapter going from the round 6 pin into the new 6 pin square.
I'M replacing the A solenoid but got a question about it. The old one has a bigger nut on the outside to remove the cartridge and a bigger shaft but a smaller nut to remove it from the block.
The new one i got has a smaller nut on the cartridge,a smaller shaft but the nut on the solenoid is bigger which i believe is 1 1/8".
MY question is can i switch between the two without causing any problems?

JUST switching to see if it solves any of my touch pad problems.
    THANKS

When the COILS are energized, they open the valves and make them click.

Do you think the solenoid is fine?

Your problem has nothing to do with the pump. Something is wrong with the wiring or the controller. Make sure that the controller has a ground wire that is actually grounding through the harness somewhere near the battery.

Looks like you need to do some homework, print out a manual and read through it. It will explain the basic mechanics of the plow system allowing you to attack this issue in a cogent manner.:mechanic:+
