    Hi guys,

I removed my MDII from my 99 Chev...had it on a 1500 gas and a 2500 diesel, sold them
both to buy an 05 Chev. I was told from our only Meyer dealer that I have to buy a different
mounting bracket. I was wondering if anything can be modified to old one to fit, or if anyone has any suggestions, or a bracket for sale if I have to. Thanx.

I thinking you had a 1500/2500 Classic Style GMC truck (same as 88-00). If you do have this style truck; you will need to buy a new mount. The frames are totally different. Do you still have the MDII clevis? If not that really stinks, bc that is an expensive piece now.
    The mount P/N is 17139
    The MDII clevis is 11770

Yeah it came off the classic style 90's 1500/2500, and it's still complete. I guess i'm looking for the mounting carton. It's the older classic style, not a newer one. I only assume that the clevis is there...if it's complete. I just checked Meyer site again, and going through the transfer, but it's coming up with different part #'s. I may have entered something incorrectly. I just read some old posts, http://www.plowsite.com/showthread.php?p=566057, and i'm in the similar boat I guess but he was looking for one for a 95 Chev, and mine came off that style/year, and i'm
looking for one for my 05 Chev. I'm assuming I need the entire mounting carton, but
after looking at a hundred sites i'm still not entirely sure what the "clevis" is.

So you need an EZ mount classic? Why does the thread title say MDII? Are you sure which style you really have? Could be why your p/n's are not matching Noble's numbers....

K, if you need the EZ classic mount for a 2500/3500 the picture should like this:

    http://www.meyerproducts.com/upload/forms/1-713%20R3.pdf

if you need it for a 1500, then this:

    http://www.meyerproducts.com/upload/forms/1-804%20R%2017138%20Mtg..pdf

Now if you need the MDII it will look like this for the 2500/3500; the parts break down is for the actual mount, but does show the clevis needed (hopefully this takes care of your confusion). The "*" is the clevis part needed to complete everything; since you could have the MDII it would be "**" (little box picture):

    http://www.meyerproducts.com/upload/forms/1-800%20R3.pdf

and if you need it for the 1500:

    http://www.meyerproducts.com/upload/forms/1-805%20R1.pdf

Hopefully this will help answer everything.

Once again i'm sorry for posting this query in this forum. I have thoroughly checked the
Meyer site and have been in contact with our Meyer distributor.

I checked my manual and it says MDII. I have checked the Meyer site thoroughly and cannot resolve this. I just do not want to order the wrong mounting carton and get the wrong one. The site shows a mounting carton that looks similar to mine, but not exact. When I go through the EZ-transfer on the Meyer site, it looks just about like the ez classic, but i'm not sure anymore. I took a picture of my 2 piece mounting carton, and the plow. The head unit(tubular frame holding the hydraulic pump/motor) looks the same as other old ones so I didn't take a picture of it. From what I could tell it looks like I currently have a carton # 17089, and need a 17138. The pic won't fit under the 100k upload limit.

Two years ago I installed it on my 98 Chev 1500, in which that’s what the previous owner had it on. Then last year I sold that and transfered it to my 99 GMC 2500 diesel, and it fit. The smaller piece of the two piece carton was off by a hair, but fit and worked. I just sold the diesel, to buy an 05 Chev 1500 gas. I know I should have at least a 2500 to plow with, but for this year this will have to do. The suspension of a 1500 just isn't supposed to take the abuse of plowing, but once again, it's only for this year until I upgrade again to another 2500. For now I have a set of airbags in the back to help with small loads, and I will have to turn the front torsion bars a hair for plowing with.

I definately don't have this one, but you say that's for the MDII, which I thought that's what mine was.

"Now if you need the MDII it will look like this for the 2500/3500; the parts break down is for the actual mount, but does show the clevis needed (hopefully this takes care of your confusion). -------------

It looks just about like this one, but...the 2500 link worked, but not the 1500 link:

"K, if you need the EZ classic mount for a 2500/3500 the picture should like this:

    http://www.meyerproducts.com/upload/...1-713 R3.pdf

if you need it for a 1500, then this:

    http://www.meyerproducts.com/upload/...138%20Mtg..pdf"

Once again i'm sorry to bring this query to this forum. And again, I just don't want to order the wrong one from our Meyer distributor so I thought I would ask some experience or if anyone out there may have what I need for sale. Thank you for your time and patience.

But the pic is worth a 1000 words...

Your confusion is due to the fact that you have an actual DIAMOND mounting setup BEFORE Meyer reconfigured them into what is now known as the EZ-Classic (after Meyer purchased Diamond, thats where they got the EZ-Classic from in the first place). No current EZ-Classic badged mount will directly fit your old style Diamod plow ND your '05 Silverado without modification that I'm aware of. And a currently badged EZ mount plus/MDII isn't similar either.

So the only real options is to either purchase an EZ-Classic mount for the 99-up Silverado body style and then modify it (or the plow) to attach to, or buy a complete plow setup used for your truck.

    Hi

    B&B is correct,

To make this work you need to get a Meyer EZ Mount Classic mounting carton for your 05 Chevy, this is the first step.

The second step is to take your A-Frame and cut the mounting spring pins and ears off of your plow and have a 3.5" x 3/8" x 30"? long piece of steel welded on across the back of the A-Frame, then weld on two Meyer Hinge Connectors ( part # 13011) to match up with the mounting carton attachment points.

I've done this on quite a few Diamonds to fit newer trucks, wearas the Diamond Pull-Away mounts have been discontinued. The hidden benefit is the Diamond plow will then work with any Classic Carton, so if you switch trucks again you'll only have to deal with the mounting carton.
