If I was to mix my own anti-ice spray with mag-chloride flake and water what should the mixture be, or is there a better solution. I'm doing a lot with a big hill that get pretty slick, no sun. Any help is good help here.

it depends on the concentration strength of the flake.

you will need a 30-35% concentration. you need to buy you a hydrometer that is calibrated to chloride (about $45)

too strong a mix is worse than too weak of a mix (actually has i higher freeze temp)

Where can I find a hydrometer. Is mixing my own batch better than buying it?

Thanks for the help powerjoke. Do you use a hommade mixture yourself? How well does it work?
