since the change over to the low sulfer diesel in the last few months, should i be changing over to the different oil too (cj-4)?

Any 2006 or older can use either low sulfer diesel or ultra low sulfer diesel. You can also use either the old rated oil or the new rated oil. The older oil is cheaper and I wouldn't use the newer oil unless you have a mixed fleet of new and old vehicles and you want either the convenience of less inventory or the piece of mind that your mechanics won't accidentally put the older oil in the newer vehicles.

2007 and newer must use ultra low sulfer diesel and the new rated oil or you will plug the cat/soot filter.
