I've got a 9' Artic straight blade. The power wire that goes to the pump is loose but not on the post. The post seems to be lose inside the pump. Can I tighten it or will it screw something up inside the pump?

There are two nuts on the post loosen the outer and remove the cable and reinstall the second nut but don't tighten it up. Then with a third nut tighten it against the second nut. This will give you a point of leverage without stripping the treads. now tighten the inner or the first nut and re install. Dont forget to add the electrcicial grease to prevent future contact issues. You might want to add some nut buster spray in order the get the nut to loosen.

Note : don't turn the entire post or you will break the inner cable running to the brushes.
