Does anyone know of good bright strobe lights we can install on our trailers that don't take a box in the truck to run the flash

All Strobes will require the strobe power supply or box you are referring too. The Vertex are LEDs and are much easier to install and are equally as bright.

You could use any led light you want....I would not go with a vertex since it was meant to be a hideaway not a surface mount light.

Vertex can be surface mounted you just have to buy the outside mount.

Yes but the light was designed to go in all directions so it would light up the whole light housing when installed as a hideaway.....Where when you surface mount it you loos a lot of the power in the light. I would Suggest a true surface mount light like what SNM Has come out with if you want something small like the vertex. http://www.strobesnmore.com/Strobes-N-More-Surface-Star-LED-Lights.html

I hadn't looked at those since before they had posted the price, etc. I think they're pretty cool.

Maine law is kinda picky about hideaways, so the Surface Star lights might be a good alternative.

Not sure how much you want to pay but by far the brightest daytime lights i have ever seen are the ones used on City/ county plow trucks which are made by CODE 3 .... I believe they are pretty pricey though but you can definitely see them day or night!

Hey, dont use a vertex buy a led light head such as whelen tir3, whelen 500 seris, snm e3 or e4, siren net SNL3SN or SNGL3. All of the lights i mentioned have internal flashers so they just need power and ground. Since these are made for surface mountng, they will be much brightaer than the vertex.
