I am looking into getting a used plow for my 2004 F-150 4.6L pick up truck. I constantly see snow plow parts posted on craigslist. However, I don't know what's compatible with my truck and what isn't. How can I find this information? Do specific brand plows require a specific lift mount or are they all universal. What else is involved in the used plow decision making process? Can someone please give me some advice and insight? Thanks
  2. The mounts are made for the frame of a specific truck. So if the used plow came off a 1985 Dodge Dakota it will not fit your 2004 Ford F-150 without welding/fabricating it. I don't know about where you are but there are a few places here you can "trade" in plow mounts for a mount to fit your truck. You sometimes have to toss a bit of cash into the deal as well though.
