I finally realized this weekend that Vermont winters have outclassed my atv/plow setup once and for all. So I'm looking for advice/suggestions on my new rig.
My driveway is roughly 2000' of gravel/dirt/hardpack rising very quickly (something like 9% grade) winding through trees and ending in a large flat cul-de-sac.
I'm contemplating building a Jeep based plow vehicle. Dedicated just to plowing, no commuting. I'm limited on storage space, so I'm shying clear of the traditional 2500 or f-250 setup. I'm thinking along the lines of a fuel-injected 6 cyl, narrow tires and chains. And a bunch of ballast. But I'm unclear on gearing and plow sizes. Could this work?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
