I have a 3" suspension lift on my 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9l gas. I have been thinking about getting a plow to do my drive way and a few other. Nothing serious just some light plowing.

I was thinking 7-8ft boss or meyers plow a steel blade. Or one of the snow sport things anyone use them?

My summer plans are 4.56 gears detroit locker in the rear and a truetack in the front so I should get pretty good traction.

Question is would I be ok plowing with the 3" lift that I have?

The truck only has 55k on it right now all new ball joints hub.

Your truck will work just fine with the lift I would go with 7'6" plow I only run Boss plows but I have ran Meyers in the passed and I was happy with them. I would stay away from the sport or light duty plows because you will most likely start doing more plowing after getting into it. good luck

I like boss plows they look really nice but they seem to come with a larger price tag than a meyers.

Also been doing some reading on here and it looks like I should get an e-60 pump if I go with meyers.

Are there any bad things about boss or meyers snow plows to look out for when I start really shopping?

I have yet to do the gear work. But man I can't wait to get the gears done in this truck 3.55's and 33" makes this truck feel like a DOG.

I don't really see the reason behind your point. My grand father has plowed for years and his meyers have always trader him good.

    I might have a line on a 7.5 off an 01 2500 its a meyers.

I run a meyer and it pushes snow just as good as any boss...and it hasn't let me down

Well I talked to him a bit last night and he said 1500 but he wanted to talk to his dad before he when any further.

He has an 01 2500 and I have an 01 1500 so everything should fit.

No I'm afraid not. Whatever gave you the idea they had the same front end? You'll need a mounting carton and a headlight adapter.

Nooooo don't get a snowsport, waste of 900$ IMO!

But ya 7'6" boss sport will do the trick!

The frames are only taller not wider. Headlight adapter? Our trucks use the same headlight system.

Why? because I can read a fit sheet? Or is it my ability to look at the install sheets and see the difference in the mounts? Perhaps my experience in actually installing plows of various makes and models on everything from a Glenden-wagon to a HB5 Freightliner and having had both of the vehicles you reference on a lift in my shop recently?

Please check back and tell us how it works. we dealers can save ourselves a ton of inventory money by decreasing our part numbers and doing away with the 1/2 ton sub frames the manufacturers insist we use.

Dude get a grip it was a joke! Hense the wink.

And if I'm so wrong email the sheets than. Maxdcat123aol.com.

I really don't see why the plow frame wont work. The frames are pretty mush the same. Here is where I have been getting my info from. http://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen-ram/240550-frame-1500-v-2500-a.html

Why would I need a headlight adapter Both or of our truck use the 9004 for low and high beam.

    You are so wrong:nod:

Go to the Meyer website, you should be able to find the link at the top of the page.

If you are talking about a EZ Classic then it is a 17111 for the 3/4, 17138 for the 1/2 ton

    If it's the EZ Plus it is a 17139 and a 17140.

    Low-side switched perhaps.

Then it should pretty mush work.

That locker should be awesome for driving in the snow, and 4.56 gears sound just right for 33s

Well its ok the deal fell threw. His dad wants to sell it the truck with the plow so I'll just keep looking or might buy a used one that will fit my truck.

New would cost to much but it is still an option.

Only reason I said locker is because I have always wanted one. But I might just put a truetrac in the rear as well.

But he did offer me the truck and plow for 4k. Truck has around 120k on it. Its kind of beat up but it would make a good plow truck. Than put a salter in the bed and I would be all set. Or so I think.
