I'm making up a plow for my old Land Rover using a old Western 6.5 foot blade. What size lift ram should I buy?

Are the lift ones around 12 inches long roughly?

a lift ram on an ultramount is 1-1/2 x 8" stroke, and about 17" overall. the older style plows had 1-1/2 x 6" stroke, so I imagine they were about 15" overall. so 12" sounds a little short, but it will depend on how you're building the frame. make sure you're not looking at a 12" stroke cylinder though, or it will be really long!
